Black-Owned

A '10K on Instagram' Celebration Cocktail!

Ya girl has finally made it! I’ve finally reached 10,000 followers on Instagram! Woohoo! This means I now have access to the mythical ‘Swipe Up’ feature…a dream for all influencers!

I created a poll on my stories of my favorite ingredients and my audience voted. So this cocktail, which I’ve appropriately named ‘The Swipe Up’, was crafted by you, my audience!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Tequila (I used Black-owned Anteel’s Coconut Lime)

  • 2 oz. fresh blood orange juice

  • .75 oz. lime juice

  • .5 oz. agave nectar

  • 3-4 dashes orange bitters

  • Prosecco or champagne, to top

  • Blood orange or lime wedge, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients except the Prosecco into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

  2. Shake for about 15 seconds strain into your champagne flute.

  3. Top with Prosecco and garnish with blood orange or lime wedge.

  4. Enjoy!

Thank you for the support, y’all! Thank you for liking, commenting and sharing my content. It means the world to me as I build Will Drink For Travel. Cheers to the next 10k!

3 Books About Wine Written by Black Authors

If you’re not new here, you know that I share almost anything involving Black people in the wine, spirits, or food industries. I have a running list of over 120+ Black-owned spirits, a list of over 120+ Black-owned restaurants in Baltimore, and most recently, I wrote about cocktail books written by Black authors,

While I’m not the biggest wine drinker, it got me thinking about wine books written by Black authors too. And since we are in the month of Black History, there’s no better time to start compiling a list (although Black History is American History and should be taught year-round, but I digress.)

I’m happy to add any others you know of; please leave a comment and I’ll be sure to update this list.
